Our narrative
Have you ever longed for something without quite knowing what it is?
We believe that all people carry shared longings that unite us across cultures, faiths, and worldviews. In a world filled with restlessness, polarization, and unrest, hope can still shine.
We seek to join together what is often divided: body, soul, and spirit; contemplation and action; science and faith. Based on deep reflection and more than 100 years of experience from both east and west, we experiment with new faithpractices and spirituality.
Our work is to create meeting places and share knowledge that foster better dialogue and spiritual practices in the world. Our goal is not to change the other, but to make space for shared transformation to take place. We provide language and spaces for spiritual experiences and longings. We do this through both large and small events, partnerships, podcasts, and articles.
We are Areopagos, and we welcome you on the journey.
Let us seek beauty, truth, and goodness together.
What we do
Areopagos works to create spaces for reflection, dialogue, and spiritual practices through publishing, conversations, and across online platforms. Our publishing house produces books and content on existence, faith, and culture—materials that invite deeper reflection, meaningful conversation, and a life rooted in spiritual depth.
A central part of this work is Praksisbiblioteket, a series of small, practice-oriented books that focus on lived experiences. Each book has its starting point in a simple action—such as listening, kneeling, or daring—and opens a path into spiritual practices, that can be integrated into everyday life. These books are designed as small companions, offering depth, calm, and space for reflection in the midst of daily routines.

Our conversation cards encourages genuine dialogue, presence, and reflection. They can be used with friends, family, colleagues, or in communities, offering simple, tangible ways to bring spiritual practice into everyday life.
In addition, we publish Tørst, a journalistic magazine featuring in-depth articles on existential and spiritual themes. Here, we explore the questions and longings that shape human life, engaging with current research and societal conversations from an existential perspective.
Alongside our publications, we produce podcasts on existence and culture, extending these conversations into an audio format.
All of Areopagos’ work is created in Danish, with a focus on contributing to thoughtful, accessible, and meaningful dialogue in a Danish context.
Meditate with us
With our roots meeting with the Buddhist tradition, meditation has always been a natural and important part of our work. At the same time, we approach and share these practices within a Christian spirit—shaped by openness, reflection, and a desire to create space for encounters with God in the midst of everyday life.
For us, meditation is not about escaping the world, but about becoming more present within it: attentive to ourselves, to others, and to the divine. By bringing together insights from different traditions, we seek to offer practices that are both grounded and accessible, and that can speak meaningfully into a contemporary Danish context.
Below, you’ll find an example of a meditation — an expression of how we work with spiritual practices in a way that invites stillness, depth, and connection.
